All right, so we're doing this one a bit early, mostly because the timing works out better this way. Essentially, I worked my fingers to the bone getting ready for the launches of The Impossible Creation, The Unleashed Creation, and The Impossible Adventure and then supporting them, so I had to take last week off to recover (more on that below). So now I'm ready to work on the next books, but I need a plan first! Because that's how my brain works.
Anyway, first, the results for the ninety-day goals for April - June.
- Success!
- Lol, nope. Everything was ready "just in time," not two weeks ahead of time. But it's a good goal for next time!
- Nope. The book launches pretty much consumed my life, so I didn't even think about An Uncertain Death.
- Success! Actually ran something like five campaigns to find new readers. :)
So let's make some new 90-day goals for July - September. Hopefully these will be a bit more accurate.
- Complete LbL editing for Part 2 of An Uncertain Death. Start Part 3.
- Prepare Book 2 for LbL editing.
- Run at least 3 campaigns to find new readers.
- Conduct launch post-mortem to analyze what went well and what could have gone better for next time.
Now that that's taken care of, on to the monthly goals. Here are the results for June's goals:
- Success!
- Success! I mean, it probably could have gone smoother, but hey, there were no major snafus, so I'm calling it a success.
- Mini-failure...I only managed to take maybe half the post-launch week off. But it's ok. I'm hoping to be a little more chill with my hours for the next few weeks. Plus I get to go back to what I enjoy doing the most: writing! So that in and of itself is recovery.
And now for July's goals:
- Edit An Uncertain Death: content review Part 1, LbL current Chapter 16, adjust content of current Chapters 17-19.
- Prepare to address Book 2 content review action items (series outline, Book 2 outline, organization of content review action items).
- Conduct launch post-mortem analyzing what went well and what could have gone better.
- Run at least 1 campaign to find new readers.
And that's it! A nice, well-defined month ahead of me. Now let's see if I can live up to expectations!
