Woo! I finally finished the final readthrough of The Impossible Creation! There were times when I was ready to chuck the whole thing in the fireplace and when it seemed like I would never ever ever be free of it. But now I am!
I mean, sort of. I'll probably read over it one last time in a couple weeks, just to be 1000% sure there aren't any glaring typos. But the vast majority of the work is done, and now it's off in the hands of The Certain Cell (my advance readers group). For the rest of the month and into June, I'll focus on preparing the launch bonuses and working on the business-end of things. Although, I am itching to get back to book 1 (An Uncertain Death).
Me, super excited about being done! And also super tired.

Ok, enough about me. I don't want this to be a post about "Woo, look how awesome I am at finishing things!", so I'm pairing it with a bit of a reveal.
First, a little background: One of my biggest inspirations for writing--besides my dreams/nightmares when sleeping--is music. Some songs capture the essence of certain characters. Others remind me of particular events that happen in my books. Still others inspire those events. For each of my books, I make a playlist. Then, when I'm down on the book (e.g. ready to chuck it into the fireplace) or otherwise stuck on it, I listen and it helps me get un-stuck.
That brings us to now: revealing the playlist for The Impossible Creation. For whatever reason, I got a little stuck on certain artists for this one. After the launch (and after you've read The Impossible Creation), I'll add some notes that describe exactly how the songs relate to the events or characters in The Impossible Creation.
Note: I don't think the songs are obvious enough to be spoilers, but maybe don't read the rest if you hate any hint of spoilers.
Second Note: Scroll to the bottom for the blooper reel of the top photo. It turns out both my dogs and I are awkward. This surprises no one.
Without further ado, here's the playlist for The Impossible Creation:
And now the promised blooper reel of awkward photos:
Me, staring into the camera with a weird look on my face.
Dog #1 refusing to look cute and pose for the camera. Dog #2 looking for spots of light on the floor because a cell phone is out.
Dog #1 continues to ignore me. Dog #2 does not.
Dog #1 sniffs at what she's supposed to be excited about. Dog #2 is bored.
