As announced, I'm going to be writing a newsletter-only story* with one chapter being released in each email. I'm hoping to make it interactive with you, my readers, helping me choose what happens next!
At this point, we've got a main character, a main plot, and three potential love interests (as well as a whole host of side characters, as per usual). Since you're getting the inside scoop, here are the details:
- Title: TBD. Waiting until the story is more fleshed out to decide one. Might even wait until the story is done!
- Subtitle: The Clan-Vampire Clash: A Prequel
- Timing: Takes place a couple years before The Impossible Creation (The Clan-Vampire Clash: A Prequel), making it a bit more than a decade before A Brush with Vampires (The Clan-Vampire Clash: Book One)
- Main character: Gnash, one of Duncan's vampire lieutenants in The Impossible Creation and beyond. She's human at this point, going by the name of Sam/Samantha.
- Main plot: How Sam becomes Gnash, something that you'll get to vote on/help me figure out!
- The set-up: Sam is on an summer internship in Los Angeles (loosely based on my own internship out there back in 2007, though this will be set a couple years earlier). She ends up with three love interests: a vampire on the run from Duncan; a Diviner (a vampire hunter who uses magic to fight vampires) who's been excused from active duty; and her very-human very-ex boyfriend. Part 1 will build up to Sam deciding between these three, something that you'll decide for her!
- The love interests and their theme songs:
Today's question: What kind of magic should Sam's Diviner love interest have? Answer it in this week's survey!
