Ok, so a quick disclaimer first: I'm not a huge fan of what happened to Katniss's character in the later books (the third one especially). So for this, we're going to base it on the first book only.

Oh, Book-One-Katniss, I heart you. You risk your life to save your sister's. You're awesome at archery. Despite having to survive in a literally "kill or be killed" world, you find your compassion and you help those who may have to kill you later. Last (but not least), you challenge an all-powerful government.
